About Animal Rescue Service

ANIMAL RESCUE SERVICE was started by a caring, loving child.Around 1980
President Debbie Onuffer really started to take in animals in need of vet
care, warmth and love.As she grew older she has rescued puppies that had
to be dug from a hole,to parakeets with broken legs,to a Pit Bull floating
in the canal. The Pit Bull had been stabbed 22 times.I am happy to say with
her love and constant care, the Pit Bull lived, and went from a deathly 21#to
98#.As people heard of her efforts she began getting more and more calls.Animal
Rescue of Rochester Inc. was incorporated on 2/20/1998 as a Non-Profit organization.
WE at Animal Rescue of Rochester.are all volunteers that care about
the abused, and homeless family pets.We have Haven Homes that care for the
orphans, until a permanent home can be found. It is all volunteers and helped
only by donations, and people that open their homes, and hearts,to the abused
and homeless orphans. We make sure the orphans are up to date on shots, and
are neut./spayed at the appropriate time. We have adoption days,(per our
calender on this web site)where we show the dogs. We also have a process
when you are interested in a certain orphan, you fill out an application,we
screen and check your references, also a home visit may be possible, then
your application will be OK'd, or declined by an A.R.S. agent. As I said
before we work solely on donations and tender hearts, so we are always grateful
for all received. Our needs list is:money for vet. expenses, food, crates, blankets, carriers, litter, food
bowls, garbage bags, and we always need volunteers for transporting, and haven
homes. If you could open your heart and home to these wonderful orphans, give
us a call.
