At the annual section conference, members have an opportunity to participate in learning experiences, share ideas, and network with colleagues across our six county Section. The event takes place during early April at St John Fisher College and is announced on the CWS Calendar. Information is sent to members in March by e-mail and to schools via the Science Matters network. The program consists of a welcome reception, vendors, workshops, and a dinner with speaker. A certificate for inservice credit is available at the end of the program.
The 2017 CWS Spring Mini-Conference takes place Thursday, April 6. In the Program Flyer (pdf) you will find a schedule, workshop descriptions, registration form, and a campus map. STANYS members will receive this information via email on March 13. Michael Occhino, invited dinner speaker, will focus on curriculum and instruction, showing how partnering with local school districts, small city school districts, and rural consortiums produce professional development models nested in a partnership that is powerful and empowering. He is Director of Science Education Outreach in the Warner School of Education, University of Rochester.
Registration postmark deadline is Saturday, April 1. Please send your registration form and a check payable to CWS-STANYS in the amount of $25 (non-member) or $20 (current member and preservice student) to the CWS-STANYS Treasurer at the address below.
